Fanapt and Breastfeeding

Although it is not known if Fanapt (iloperidone) passes through breast milk in humans, the manufacturer of the drug recommends that women not take Fanapt while nursing a child. Animal studies on breastfeeding and Fanapt have shown that this medication does pass through breast milk in rats, although the potential problems it may cause are unknown.
