Fanapt Drug Interactions

When Fanapt is taken with certain other medications or substances (such as alcohol, blood pressure medications, or medications that cause drowsiness), drug interactions can occur. These potential interactions with Fanapt may alter the level of Fanapt in your blood or increase your risk of unwanted side effects. You should make sure to talk with your healthcare provider about the specific interactions that may apply to you.

An Overview of Drug Interactions With Fanapt

Fanapt (iloperidone) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Fanapt include:
 
  • Alcohol or other substances or medications that cause drowsiness
  • Blood pressure medications
  • CYP 2D6 inhibitor medications, including (but not limited to):

 

 

  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, including (but not limited to):

 

 

  • Medications that cause a certain change in the heart rhythm known as QT prolongation (see QT-Prolonging Medications for a list of such medications).
