Problems With Haldol
Haldol® (haloperidol) is a prescription medicine approved for treating psychotic disorders, behavior problems, and various other conditions. Although most people tolerate this drug well, some people taking Haldol may experience problems while on the medication.
In clinical studies, a number of side effects were reported with this drug. Some of the most common side effects of Haldol included insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, hair loss, and vertigo (a spinning sensation). In general, these side effects were mild and either did not require medical attention or were treated easily.
There are also a number of less common but potentially serious side effects that may occur with the use of Haldol. Problems that should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider include any unusual body movements, muscle tension or contractions, seizures, or a high fever. These side effects may be signs of other serious problems and require immediate medical attention.
