Invega Sustenna 156 Mg

Before prescribing Invega® Sustenna® (paliperidone palmitate), your healthcare provider will take into consideration several factors when determining your dosage. Some of these factors include how you respond to the drug, other medical conditions you have, and other medications you are taking. This drug is given as an injection by your healthcare provider.

The usual initial dose for treating schizophrenia is 234 mg. A dose of 156 mg of Invega Sustenna is given one week later, followed by a once-a-month maintenance dose of 117 mg given every four weeks.

Some people may need lower or higher doses, depending on how well the medication is tolerated and how well it works to control symptoms. People who are switching from another long-acting injectable antipsychotic to Invega Sustenna do not have to receive two doses one week apart; they start with the once-a-month dosing.
