Invega 3 mg Tablets
Invega® (paliperidone) is an antipsychotic medication licensed to treat schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder in adults. It comes in tablet form and is available by prescription only. The tablets are available in 1.5 mg, 3 mg, 6 mg, and 9 mg strengths.
The Invega dose that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
- Other medical conditions you may have
- Other medications you may be currently taking.
The standard recommended starting dosage for the treatment of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder is 6 mg once daily in the morning. If needed, your healthcare provider can increase your dose up to 12 mg daily. People with kidney disease may need a lower Invega dose, such as 1.5 mg or 3 mg Invega tablets once a day.
A long-acting injectable form (Invega Sustenna™) is also available and is given just once a month.
