Invega® (
paliperidone) is a prescription drug used to treat
symptoms of schizophrenia and to prevent relapses. It is also approved to treat schizoaffective disorder. It comes in tablet form and is available in the following strengths:
- 1.5 mg tablets
- 3 mg tablets
- 6 mg tablets
- 9 mg tablets.
Your healthcare provider will recommend an appropriate dosage for your situation based on several factors, including other existing medical conditions you have and other medications you are currently taking.
Most people being treated for
schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder typically start with 6 mg
Invega tablets (one tablet daily, taken in the morning). If your symptoms do not improve with this dosage, your healthcare provider may increase your dose up to 12 mg daily.
