Keep this medication and all other medications out of the reach of children.
If you do not take your Invega tablets as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.
If you are late for a dose of long-acting Invega Sustenna, contact your healthcare provider right away.
Invega tablets are available in the following strengths:
- Invega 1.5 mg
- Invega 3 mg
- Invega 6 mg
- Invega 9 mg.
The long-acting injection form is available in the following strengths:
- Invega Sustenna 39 mg
- Invega Sustenna 78 mg
- Invega Sustenna 117 mg
- Invega Sustenna 156 mg
- Invega Sustenna 234 mg.
Alternatives to Invega
There are several alternatives to this drug for the treatment of schizophrenia. Other atypical antipsychotic medications for schizophrenia include:
- Aripiprazole (Abilify®)
- Clozapine (Clozaril®, FazaClo®)
- Olanzapine (Zyprexa®)
- Quetiapine (Seroquel®)
- Risperidone (Risperdal®)
- Ziprasidone (Geodon®).
Older, "typical" antipsychotics are also approved to treat schizophrenia. Haloperidol (Haldol®) and thioridazine (Mellaril®) are examples of typical antipsychotics.
