Haldol® (haloperidol) is a prescription "typical antipsychotic" medication. As with other first-generation antipsychotics, this drug has been around for a while, and many people may have heard of it. But what is Haldol used for?
Haldol is used for the treatment of numerous conditions in both adults and children. It is approved to treat psychotic disorders (such as schizophrenia), tics associated with Tourette syndrome, severe behavior problems in children, and severe attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children (for short-term use only).
