Schizophrenia Home > Invega Sustenna Per Day

If your healthcare provider has prescribed Invega® Sustenna® (paliperidone palmitate), you may be wondering if you have to use this medicine on a per-month or per-day basis.

The standard initial dosage of Invega Sustenna for the treatment of schizophrenia is a first-time dose of 234 mg, followed by a dose of 156 mg that is given one week later, followed by a once-a-month maintenance dose of 117 mg given every four weeks. If you are switching from another long-acting injectable antipsychotic, you do not have to receive the second dose one week after the initial one. Invega Sustenna comes as a liquid that is given as an injection into a muscle (an intramuscular, or IM, injection).
