When Navane is taken with certain other medications (such as Paxil, Mirapex, or Prozac), drug interactions can potentially occur. Navane drug interactions can result in problems such as increased or decreased drug levels in the blood, as well as an increased risk of side effects.
The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Navane is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Amantadine (Symmetrel)
Navane may decrease the effectiveness of medications for Parkinson's disease, including amantadine. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
Antacids
Antacids can interfere with the absorption of Navane into your bloodstream. To avoid this problem, be sure to take Navane at least one hour before or two hours after an antacid dose.
