Benefits of Risperdal
Risperdal® (risperidone) is a prescription medication licensed for the treatment of various conditions of the brain. It is used to treat the following conditions:
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Irritability associated with autism.
There are also some unapproved, "off-label" uses for Risperdal, such as treating:
- Behavior problems in elderly people with dementia
- Other behavior problems
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Psychotic depression (depression with psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations or delusions).
Risperdal is approved for use in adults and children. It is not a cure for any of these conditions, but it can help to alleviate the symptoms. Risperdal can also help prevent relapses of these conditions.
