Risperdal® (
risperidone) can cause problems. Some of the most common problems with Risperdal include side effects, such as:
If side effects do occur, they tend to be minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. However, there are some potentially serious Risperdal problems that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience problems such as:
- Large or rapid weight gain
- Depression or suicidal thoughts
- A rapid heart rate (tachycardia)
- Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing.
