Risperdal Drug Side Effects

As with many other drugs, Risperdal^® (risperidone) can cause side effects. Some of the most common side effects include:

Drowsiness
An increased appetite
Upper respiratory tract infections, such as the common cold
Insomnia
Agitation
Anxiety
Nausea
Dizziness
Headaches.

If side effects do occur with Risperdal, they tend to be minor and easy to treat. However, there are some potentially serious side effects with Risperdal that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience side effects such as:

Rapid weight gain
Depression or suicidal thoughts
A rapid heart rate
Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
