Fanapt Medication Information

Schizophrenia is a treatable condition, and one of the drugs used to control it is Fanapt® (iloperidone). This product comes in tablet form and is generally taken twice a day. Although most people tolerate it well, side effects are possible; common ones include dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue, and weight gain.

Prior to beginning treatment with Fanapt, your healthcare provider needs information on any other medications you are taking and any other medical conditions you have. Drug interactions are a concern, and people with diabetes, a seizure disorder, or heart disease, for example, might not be able to take this medicine and may need to look at other treatments for schizophrenia.

(Click Fanapt for more information on this medication's effectiveness, important precautions and warnings, dosing guidelines, and whether a generic version is available.)
