Olanzapine Relprevv

Zyprexa® Relprevv™ (olanzapine extended-release injection) is a prescription medicine licensed for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults. It belongs to a class of drugs called atypical antipsychotics, which appear to work by blocking or lessening the effects of certain chemicals in the brain.
In clinical studies of this drug, people taking Zyprexa Relprevv experienced improvement in their schizophrenia symptoms when compared to those not taking the drug.
Zyprexa Relprevv is given as an injection in the gluteal muscle (the buttocks) every two to four weeks. Because this medicine can cause dangerous side effects, particularly within three hours after the dose is given, you will receive your injection by a healthcare provider and in a healthcare setting where you can be closely monitored.
