The maximum dose of
Zyprexa® (
olanzapine) for treating
schizophrenia or
bipolar disorder is 20 mg once a day. However, your healthcare provider will consider several factors before recommending your personal Zyprexa dosage, such as your age, the severity of your condition, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are currently taking.
You can take your Zyprexa dosage either in the morning or at night. However, Zyprexa should be taken at the same time each day to maintain even levels of the drug in your blood. If Zyprexa causes bothersome drowsiness or dizziness for you, ask your healthcare provider if you can take your Zyprexa at bedtime to decrease these side effects.
