Zyprexa 7.5 mg Tablets

Zyprexa® (olanzapine) is a prescription medicine used to treat certain mental illnesses. It comes in tablet form and is available in the following strengths:
 
  • 2.5 mg Zyprexa tablets
  • 5 mg Zyprexa tablets
  • 7.5 mg Zyprexa tablets
  • 10 mg Zyprexa tablets
  • 15 mg Zyprexa tablets
  • 20 mg Zyprexa tablets.
     
When combined with fluoxetine (Prozac®), Zyprexa is approved to treat depression associated with bipolar disorder or treatment-resistant depression (depression that has not responded to at least two different antidepressants). The starting dosage is fluoxetine 20 mg daily, in combination with Zyprexa 5 mg daily.
 
The recommended starting Zyprexa dose for the treatment of schizophrenia is 5 mg to 10 mg. If you start at less than 10 mg daily, your healthcare provider may increase your dosage of Zyprexa to 10 mg within the first few days.
 
The recommended starting Zyprexa dose for treating manic or mixed episodes in bipolar disorder is 10 mg to 15 mg once daily. If bipolar disorder symptoms continue after several weeks, your healthcare provider may increase the Zyprexa dosage.
