General Zyprexa Dosage Information

Some considerations for people taking Zyprexa include:
 
  • Zyprexa is available in several forms, including regular tablets and tablets that are meant to dissolve rapidly in the mouth. These tablets are called Zyprexa Zydis® tablets.
     
  • Regular Zyprexa tablets should be taken with a glass of water. Zyprexa Zydis tablets do not need to be taken with water.
     
  • Your Zyprexa dosage can be taken with or without food.
     
  • Zyprexa can be taken either in the morning or at night. However, Zyprexa should be taken at the same time each day to maintain even levels of the drug in your blood.
     
  • If Zyprexa causes bothersome drowsiness or dizziness for you, ask your healthcare provider if you can take your Zyprexa at bedtime to decrease these side effects.
     
  • For Zyprexa to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. Zyprexa will not work if you stop taking it.
     
  • If you are unsure about anything related to your dosage or Zyprexa dosing in general, please talk with your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not stop taking Zyprexa without first discussing it with your healthcare provider (see Withdrawal From Zyprexa).
