Zyprexa Zydis
Zyprexa® (olanzapine) is a prescription medicine used to treat conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. This medication comes in two forms -- regular tablets and orally disintegrating tablets (Zyprexa Zydis®).
Zyprexa Zydis orally disintegrating tablets are available in the following strengths:
- 5 mg
- 10 mg
- 15 mg
- 20 mg.
Both forms of Zyprexa are typically taken once a day. The regular tablets must be taken with water, while the Zyprexa Zydis tablets are designed to rapidly dissolve in your mouth without the need for water.
Although most people tolerate Zyprexa and Zyprexa Zydis tablets well, the medication is not suitable for everyone. Before starting treatment with Zyprexa, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you may have or any other medications you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
